The Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival is one of the biggest CrossFit competitions in the country. Held every year in sunny Miami, Florida Wodapalooza brings over 2,000 athletes together, all of them looking for their chance to qualify for the CrossFit Games. Wodapalooza also known as WZA, offers many opportunities to get there, with competitions in every division you could think of. JUNK was lucky enough to have multiple athletes competing - they came in fired up and ready to unleash their A game!
One of those athletes was the always ready to slay, Amanda Barnhart, and she was quick to show that she was here on business. Amanda competed in the Elite Women's Single, she was able to secure herself 696 points, and a spot in the CrossFit Games in August.
Amanda has said that she has a lot of work to do before August, but thanks to the endless support from her sponsors, fans, family, and friends she's got big confidence heading into the Games. We can't wait to cheer you on Amanda! If you want to learn more about Amanda, her athletic journey, and which headbands are her favs you can check it out here.
JUNK athlete Chyna Cho came out to compete at WZA this year as well. For this go round she competed with Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom. From the beginning it was clear that they were ready to kick some butts and take some names. With high standing athletes like Tasia Percevecz, Rich Froning, and Scott Panchik it's no surprise how outstandingly they performed.
This isn't the first time the team has competed together, and with their return to competition brought a previous rival - Team GOWOD. Although the competition was tough Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom fought hard and brought home the win. They scored a total of 753 points, beating Team GOWOD by 2 points! You go Chyna! And you go Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom!
JUNK is so proud of not only our athletes but of all the athletes that came out to compete at Wodapalooza - you all killed it! We had a great time being there, we love getting to see you all in person and cannot wait until the CrossFit Games. See you then!
